Questions
Q. What Does PEENUTS stand for?
A. PEENUTS is an acronym for Power to Empty Every Time while Never Urinating Too Soon. These are expected normal bladder
functions. We believe that PEENUTS truly sets the gold standard in prostate nutrition.
Q. Does PEENUTS have any side effects or will it interact with my medication?
A. PEENUTS is an all-natural preparation without known side effects. Additionally, this product has not shown
interaction with any medications. PEENUTS can be taken with confidence.
Q. What is the secret to the effectiveness of PEENUTS?
A. PEENUTS is a unique blend of 15 ingredients including Saw Palmetto. Our formula contains vitamins, minerals, amino
acids and herbs blended in a unique manner allowing all components to compliment each other. These ingredients are
essential to a healthy prostate. While Saw Palmetto alone has some effect on the prostate, it is Saw Palmetto in
combination where its effectiveness is maximally seen. If you have been on Saw Palmetto alone or another herbal
preparation give PEENUTS a try and discover the difference for yourself.
Q. How do you know that your formula works?
A. We performed a prospective, randomized, double-blind study with placebo control and crossover. This study cost
$100,000 to perform. The results have been incredible, noting statistical and clinical significance. Our study results
allow you to use PEENUTS with confidence.
Q. What signs or symptoms will alert me of a problem?
A. Many Physicians tell their patients that their prostates are enlarged. This may be the only signal that you will get
from the physician allowing you to help yourself. Getting up at night to empty your bladder (Nocturia) may be the most
reliable indicator that you will benefit from PEENUTS. Other symptoms may be a decrease in stream size compared to age
30 and frequency or urgency to void. The feelings of incomplete voiding, intermittency of stream or hesitancy in
starting your stream are also indicators of a growing prostate. Additionally, a history of Prostatitis, family history
of Prostate Cancer, or a PSA of greater than or equal to one may be all the information you need to get started on
PEENUTS.
Q. Is there a certain look to men who need PEENUTS?
A. Except for being tired, probably not. All adult men will need PEENUTS sooner or later. When you start depends on your
personal perspective. If you are a proactive, preventative type of person, you will start minimally at age 35. If on the
other hand, you are a reactive type of person you will likely wait until you have symptoms or problems and then start
PEENUTS. All nutritionists support the proactive, preventative approach.
Q. Will this product help males avoid Prostate Cancer?
A. That is a very interesting question. My personal belief is that the more a prostate grows the more difficult it is to
detect a cancer that may be quite small. Keeping the prostate small can only enhance the ability of the physical exam to
detect the cancer.
Furthermore, only recently has data emerged that speaks to the benefit of antioxidants and Immune Stimulants (Vitamin E
and Selenium, respectively) to decrease the threat of Prostate Cancer. My final comment centers around my belief that
evidence may emerge that suggests that Prostatitis may lead to Prostate Cancer deaths. Evidence is emerging that
demonstrates a chronic inflammatory disease called Prostatitis leads to Prostate Cancer. The mechanism is associated
with oxidative change at the cellular level that leads to mutation and Prostate Cancer cellular evolution.
Q. At what age should one consider prostate nutrition?
A. Generally ages 35-90; with earlier usage if you are an adult male and have been on antibiotics for a urinary tract
infection or Prostatitis even one time during your adult life.
Q. Is PEENUTS designed for the short term?
A. Nutritional products are never designed for a short period of time only. Nutritional support is a way of life. The
cost of this product, $1.20 a day, speaks to its affordability. Your experience with this product will also speak to its
reliability, effectiveness and the need to make PEENUTS a part of your daily routine.
Q. Can women take this herbal formula?
A. At this point in time, many women take the PEENUTS formula with confidence to combat the threat of UTI, Interstitial
Cystitis, and Urethritis. That said, women are now encouraged to use their own formula called "Bladder Balance". This
formula has most of the fine ingredients from the PEENUTS formula wrapped with specific ingredients that have shown to
have additional bladder stabilizing effects.
Q. What inspired you as an M.D. to explore non-surgical options to prostate care?
A. As you know, I am a physician and urologist (surgeon). Within my profession, we should constantly strive to give our
patients the most conservative successful options to improve or eliminate their problem. We also know that surgery is
not always the best option. Surgery does not come without complications and risk. I am elated to be associated with a
product that I believe will be revered as the first line of therapy for men with a prostate disorder.
Q. Given the choice of surgery or a more conservative measure for lower urinary tract symptoms - what is your
preference?
A. The decision may be better left to you and your physician. At this point we don't know the benefits of long-term
nutrition to the prostate. I prefer to try to put you in the position of never being faced with tough decisions. I
prefer to encourage you to be proactive about your nutritional health. Even if you have surgery, you still need prostate
nutrition. Surgery is associated with inherent risks, time loss, significant expense, and exposure to the unpredictable.
I encourage you to huddle with your physician to make the best decision for you. If your physician doesn't know about
prostate nutrition - help him/her out by education and making known your personal health goals.
Q. Is there a benefit of taking an Alpha Blocker with the PEENUTS formula?
A. My clinical experience with Alpha Blockers such as Flomax would suggest that there are a percentage of patients who
will do best on PEENUTS and the Alpha Blocker. The reason is quite simple, as there are two mechanisms involved. Flomax
relaxes the bladder neck while PEENUTS works versus the signs and symptoms of Prostatitis. If the PSA is greater than or
equal to 1 ng/ml, I would suggest PEENUTS alone. If voiding symptoms were present and not relieved entirely by PEENUTS,
I would add Flomax. Patients are reminded that alpha blockers do nothing to assist the nutritional status of the
prostate. When patients are reminded that most voiding symptoms are associated with Prostatitis, it is "No Brainer" that
PEENUTS is the best first choice and often the only choice necessary for prostate health.
Q. Why don't you agree with other experts that a PSA of 0-4 ng/ml is normal?
A. Here is an area where we have shot ourselves in the foot as Professionals. How can O-4 ng/ml be normal when 20-30% of
all prostate cancers are discovered in this range? While 0-4 ng/ml is common, it is not normal! This represents a true
medical oxymoron.
Q. Can a Prostate Biopsy Spread Prostate Cancer?
A. Absolutely! There was a study done (the reference eludes me) that demonstrated a risk of 10-20% for needle tracking
of cells along the biopsy path. Patients and physicians should always consider carefully the risks and potential
benefits before a prostate biopsy is performed.
Q. In terms of nutrition for the prostate, do you recommend the PEENUTS formula exclusively?
A. No! I encourage men to become better educated on what needs to take place with any prostate formula utilized. If men
use validated biologic prostate marker evaluation as a means to determine success or failure, I believe that the choice
for the PEENUTS formula will be clear. If on the other hand, patients see benefit in reduction of symptoms associated
with a reduction in EPS and PSA, I would encourage them to stay the course. While the patented PEENUTS formula may not
be for everybody, it is difficult to recommend other products/formulas where companies fail to provide scientifically
validated data.
